DeepRoots and Propagate partner to scale agroforestry in the UK.
DeepRoots and Propagate have partnered to scale agroforestry in the United Kingdom.
Agroforestry is the intentional integration of trees and agriculture for food production, environment, resilience, and profit. Trees can be planted for fruit, nut and timber production, livestock shelter and feed, biodiversity, water quality, carbon drawdown, and more.
Propagate is a U.S. agroforestry project developer that helps farmland owners plant, operate, and monitor tree crops so they can generate stable sources of income for future generations. Propagate has planted over 200,000 trees on dozens of farms in the United States, centering on culinary chestnuts and black locust timber. Their Overyield software boasts rapid prototyping for agroforestry design, agronomy, and implementation, and enables farm financial planning for over 100 different crops.
DeepRoots provides an AI-driven platform that turns corporate sustainability targets and farmer ambition into actionable, profitable land management plans. DeepRoots integrates geospatial, agronomic, and financial data to design regenerative land-use blueprints that increase yield stability, farm income, and ecosystem health. The company is already working on several high-profile projects in the UK with leading retailers and landowners.
DeepRoots’ AI integration on top of Propagate’s Overyield software will accelerate and decrease the time it takes to identify best-fit opportunities for agroforestry development. The two companies aim to dramatically accelerate the process of identifying, planning, and financing agroforestry opportunities across the UK landscape — reducing complexity for both farmers and corporate supply chains.
An agricultural extension of the Special Relationship, this agronomic and technology transfer between the United States and Great Britain is expected to increase food security and sustainable farming.
“This partnership is a major step forward for UK farming. DeepRoots turns sustainability targets into profitable, on-the-ground action — using AI to transform supply chains and empower farmers. By joining forces with Propagate’s decade of proven U.S. agroforestry expertise, we’re building the systems and support that make trees-on-farms commercially scalable across the UK.” Joss Rogers (Co-Founder & CEO of DeepRoots):
"This partnership is about turning sustainability goals into something you can actually see growing in the ground. DeepRoots helps identify where agroforestry can make the biggest impact, and Propagate brings the know-how to make it work for farmers and supply chains. Together, we're proving that planting trees-on-farms isn't just good for the planet. It's good business."
